Family Bridge Coalition Update: NEW TOOL from Greater Longview United Way

LET'S GET CONNECTED

Get Connected is an exciting website bringing community volunteer opportunities, activities, and events to one location. It engages individuals looking to become more involved and make a difference in their community, with a wide variety of organizations and the opportunities they have available. And, this site allows local agencies and organizations to list their needs and happenings in one convenient place.

The site is free, user friendly, and will provide instant communication with an entire community of volunteers.

Get Connected is a collaborative effort of Lift Johnstown and the United Way of the Laurel Highlands, with financial sponsorship from the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and the United Way.

Browse the site to learn more about local agencies, events, and to sign up for volunteer needs.  It is a fantastic, easy-to-use resource for the Family Bridge Coalition.

Strategic Planning Team Update

Hello Strategic Planning Team:

Thank you TONS for all of your help so far in this process, and for your enthusiasm and willingness to help in the future. I have to say that personally this has really been a great learning experience working with such knowledgeable people and that is invaluable!

Most of you were able to make the meeting last night with Armando (UCLA Technical Assistance) and Francesca (HHSC). I’ve tried to compile my scattered notes so we could figure out a game plan together. They are attached. Please correct anything that I’ve misunderstood, and please offer any and all suggestions to the entire group. You can also find the HHSC guidance document, the 5.7.2014 strategic plan outline, and EDI reports by going to https://sites.google.com/site/familybridgecoalition/.

In addition to suggestions, please let me know the best method of communication for the group – virtual meetings, conference calls, face-to-face, whatever is best. I know how busy everyone is, but continuous communication is key to ensure we all remain on the same page.

Lots of info! Let me know if you have any questions. Also, Armando and Francesca have been CC’d on this email in case you would like to contact them directly.
